Montana is at a crossroads. Citizens are nervous. Residents are scared. The public at large is upset.
What’s all the ruckus about? Well-read below to find out how two candidates running for Western Montana’s District 1 Congressional seat have vastly opposing views on these “data centers”.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) Data Centers seem to be popping up just about everywhere all over the nation. After having spoken with several Montana residents the consensus appears to be the same. Everyone seems to be mortified by the thought of these unsafe AI Data centers (and especially when they might land in their neighborhood), and that is even with the limited knowledge most folks have about these monstrosities. The overwhelming sense we get can be summed up in one Christopher Gadsden quote,
“Don’t tread on me.“
We interviewed Dr. Al Olszewski about the subject and requested his thoughts on these massive centers and here were his answers.
“Al Data centers are absolutely not a good fit for Montanans. These centers will take away jobs from Montanans and that’s always a bad thing. Folks’ energy bills will skyrocket, and it will pollute our water sources. With what Daines pushed through meaning the CSKT Water Compact (which most Montanan’s detest) we absolutely cannot risk more problems with our valuable water resources. These facilities emit a large amount of noise and heat as well.” -Dr. Al Olszewski
Then we discovered Aaron Flint’s ideas concerning these Centers. According to Flint’s response on his radio show “Montana Talks” Flint revealed the following,
“Our nation needs AI and data centers for our economy and for national security, but right now we lack the energy generation needed to power them. So, what do we do? And how do we rebuild industry here in Montana?” Click here to read the full article on Montana Talks Radio. (By Aaron Flint)
However, Dr. Olszewski disagrees and believes AI Data centers in Montana will hurt the economy as “they will take away jobs from Montana residents” (as well as a myriad of other factors) and he feels that’s just too big a risk to chance.
Listen below to a video we’ve added which shares about the pitfalls of these AI Data centers.
Publisher’s note-“Because it can take many years to hook up to the grid it is likely that AI centers will run using dirty polluted energy.”
