After watching (and studying) the persecuted Missionaries who embarked on their journey in Montana last November I am convinced that just like Christ they too would go ‘searching’ for the ‘one lost sheep’. And that is in fact exactly what they are doing.
All 5 of them (Jesse Boyd, his two children Bethany and Josiah, Carter Phillips. and Eric Trent) have endured bitter cold, hardships, rain, horrible insults, exhaustion, and more to share the Good News of Christ last November and most recently throughout other areas of Montana.
And now the three who continued where they left off have scaled 9000-foot peaks, ‘roughed’ rainstorms, mud, and sleet to go and find the ‘one lost sheep’ (and yes even in Montana AGAIN). Below are varied pictures of the missionaries as they go through great measures to ‘find the sheep.’
They search for the ‘one’ in valleys, among rivers, on steep rocky tops, in rain and mud, among harassers, while assaulted and arrested, at the D.C. Capitol, and in the bitter cold to name a few places, circumstances, and events. (see pictures below)
What exactly is meant by that statement in the (scriptures)?
So for over 5000 miles these missionaries who were also severely persecuted last November and arrested are still seeking and searching for the ‘one lost sheep.’ And why are they doing this? It’s certainly not for money. None of them are getting rich off of this but simply living day to day. Why attempt something seemingly so outrageous, risky, and to some irrelevant.
They do what they do because they obey the Lord; it’s that simple. And I am convinced that BECAUSE IT IS HARD those they encounter are intrigued that they would travel thousands of miles to share the simple message of hope and new life in Christ. These evangelists understand the depravity of man, the sinfulness of America as a whole, the value of repentance and the reality of hell.
“Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his for his friends.” (KJV)
I am most certain that if ONLY ONE unsaved person were to repent and trust Christ and escape the wrath to come and eternal damnation that yes these missionaries would go to the ends of the earth searching for the one.
Won’t you repent and turn from your sins and ask Christ to be your Lord and Savior?
