Bomb Threat at Helena Capitol Forces Evacuation and Across the U.S.

A bomb threat at the Capitol in Helena forced the inhabitants to evacuate along with several other Capitols nationwide. (To learn more read the article below).

HELENA, Mont. — “A bomb threat emailed to officials in several states early Wednesday, including Montana, briefly disrupted government affairs and prompted some state capitol evacuations, but no explosives were found and federal officials quickly dismissed the threats as a hoax.

Montana Highway Patrol officer Jay Nelson confirmed it was a bomb threat.

“I can confirm that a bomb threat was received for the Montana State Capitol building at approximately 8:30 this morning in Helena. Montana Highway Patrol troopers assigned to the Capitol did evacuate the building and have swept the building with our explosive’s detection canine team,” said Nelson.

Legislative Services Director Jerry Howe confirmed the Montana State Capitol was evacuated at 8:32 a.m.”

Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi and Montana were among the states that evacuated statehouse offices or buildings.”
