Montana: Windchill Factors or Not it’s Going to be Bitterly Cold (and How to Prepare)

Date:

There are a lot of reports out there and a lot of predictions concerning the upcoming next few bitterly cold days.

Some reports factor in “wind-chill” (and some don’t) but regardless everyone needs to be prepared. Everyone should have a generator on hand (or at least access to one should things go “awry”). Candles can be messy and need to be watched closely (however if that’s all you have they will have to do). The best type of candles is battery operated ones (in my opinion) as well as flashlights. These are quick and easy and no mess. (see below)

Water and plenty of easy-to-get food such as freeze-dried are super important to have quick access to.

Who wants to deal with a messy candle if the power goes out? Certainly not me that’s for sure.

So whether it’s with or without the “wind chill factor” we KNOW it’s going to be crazy cold!

Folks need to be aware that if we get high winds that’s when the possibility of power going out would be a major problem.

Stay safe, prepare well, and don’t forget to always look out for your neighbors and especially your elderly shut ins.
