“Come celebrate Earth Day this Saturday, April 22, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Northwest Montana History Museum in Kalispell. There will be educational booths, a film screening and workshops.“
This is an Agenda; don’t give into it.
It is the first Earth Day climate event in Kalispell (124 2nd Ave East), organized by the influential NGO, Citizens’ Climate Lobby. The CCL booth will be promoting clean energy alternatives through interacting with the public and there will be informational literature mainly regarding two focus issues: 1. electrification and the pathway to a net zero clean energy economy, and 2. the implementation of carbon fees on the “fossil fuel” companies.
In addition to CCL, Climate Smart Glacier Country, Flathead Audubon and possibly other climate-based NGOs will be represented at this event. The workshop, “Electrify Your Life” will provide information on the incentives available to homeowners/renters through the Inflation Reduction Act to scale up to a completely electrified home (that means no gas stoves, no wood stoves, no “fossil fuel-based” alternatives for heating, cooling or power).
Your home’s electric smart meter will then monitor and control the totality of your power usage. The online Climate Solutions Simulator workshop will examine the effectiveness of various policies addressing global warming and climate change.
These promotions are in line with those established in Whitefish through their adoption and implementation of ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) policy, or “Local Governments for Sustainability.” ICLEI is the vehicle by which the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are implemented locally worldwide.
