Kalispell Costco: 12-Year-Old Buys $5000 Worth of Groceries for Local Food Bank on His Birthday

Date:

It was quite the day at the Kalispell Costco on Wednesday as a wonderful surprise took place.

A 12-year-old young man (and on his birthday) purchased at least $5000 worth of groceries for the local food bank(s). As he stood at the register several Costco staff sang to him celebrating his special day! And what better way to do it than to purchase food for those who need it?

One particular Costco employee stated as she spotted a man with a flatbed stockpiled high with food,

“So you must be serving breakfast” (because he had a flatbed full of cereal) and then he said he was with the food bank. There were at least two other food bank people with him with flatbeds behind him. There were at least 5 flatbeds. He said it was almost $5000 and a 12-year-old bought it and it was his birthday.”

“There were cases of cereal, condensed milk, beans, and more.”

It wasn’t apparent exactly which food bank in the valley the purchase was for but the volunteers were most certainly surprised and thankful!

What a wonderful way to spend a birthday!
