Kalispell: Fire Engulfs Quality Inn Hotel-Power Outages and Flood Ensues (Possible Asbestos) Footage/Photos Included

Date:

A horrendous fire broke out today at the Quality Inn in Kalispell causing power outages in the surrounding area as well as flooding.

Earlier today locals shared how there were power outages from Albertson’s throughout Kila and surrounding areas due to a fire that took place at the Quality Inn in Kalispell. At approximately 6:30 pm the power came back on as Flathead Electric Co-op was on the scene working diligently.

It seems pipes burst as well along with smoke billowing throughout the roof of the structure as there was water throughout Appleway Drive and beyond.

The fire chief revealed the fire started as a result of plumber soldering within a room.

A local young photographer (Rylan Wright of Kalispell 9-years-old) captured the following 3 scenes below of firefighters.

Local pilot/tour guide and private flight instructor Kyle Nace was out for a fun flight with a friend and captured the following footage from the helicopter he rented for the day. (Click here to see amazing video footage Nace gathered from his phone camera).

(Below are still shots taken from Nace’s footage)

Folks are concerned about possible asbestos within the building and now the fire hazard including asbestos.
