Scammers traveled through the Libby and Kalispell area recently selling and attempted to (and did) sell ‘fake’ raffle tickets saying a friend’s child had “two types of cancer”. This is a low and gross attempt to make quick cash.
Pictures below show a ‘raffle ticket’ exchange for cash via an unsuspecting victim. One citizen from Troy reported the following,
At one stop, “He just randomly showed up. No documents of any such raffle. Out of state plates (bs story). Not to mention after someone paid $30 dollars for the raffle tickets he just left. Got in his car, high fived the lady in the passenger seat and took off his glasses and they both drove off laughing. Said she (the child) had a 30% chance to live crap. Without any actual papers.”
The man explained to Montana1stNews that “a guy a woman and a little girl” (who apparently belonged to someone else) were going around selling raffle tickets to earn money for the child’s “cancer.”
He continued,
“He asked and when the woman who wanted to buy the raffle tickets said “yes’, he went back to the car and came back with a roll of raffle tickets anyone can buy. No special posters or anything to advertise it. Low effort scam preying on the innocent.”

Another person shared,
“I saw him at Tractor Supply in Kalispell today, he was asking for the manager with raffle tickets in his hand. He was with a little girl.”
Apparently he (they) were in Marion at the Hilltop and was headed towards Happy’s Inn outside of Libby.
Others shared,
“I’m pretty sure they were in the valley last summer too. He looked familiar.”
The story continued,
“Montana Highway Patrol is looking for them. I guess they have been reported a few times and now they have some clear photos. At least word will get out and they cannot take money from the innocent.”
