If you’ve ever even pondered the idea that a “Convention of States” was a good idea think again.

URGENT UPDATE; ACTION NEEDED: The Montana Senate will vote tomorrow (Wed., February 1) on COS Con-Con resolution SJ 2 and Con-Con resolution SB 211. Urge your state senators to oppose and vote against both SJ 2 and SB 211!
The simultaneous vote on SB 211 is not coincidental. The bill is designed to give false assurance that a convention won’t get out of control, doing this by ostensibly regulating the appointment and conduct of delegates (referred in the bill as “commissioners”).
Such a bill would be completely useless at preventing a runaway convention — for example, SB 211 doesn’t regulate delegates from other states, and it doesn’t prevent delegates from proposing an entirely new constitution (in the 1787 Convention, states also attempted to limit delegates’ authority). Contact your state legislators and don’t let them fall for the lie that SB 211 will prevent a runaway convention.
TAKE ACTION: Urge your state representative and senator to oppose SJ 2, SB 211, and all other pro-Article V convention resolutions and to instead consider nullification as a safe and constitutional means to limit government.
