Assistant AG Thorin Geist “Jewish Cynic”-(“Please Pray for Him-He Needs the Messiah”)

Date:

The following article was written by persecuted missionary Jesse Boyd of North Carolina.

“This is the individual who is zealously pursuing our prosecution with the Montana Attorney General’s office (as included in a recent motion publicly filed with the court, link to full motion in the comments). Mr. Geist is ultimately accountable to Attorney General Austin Knudsen. Mr. Knudsen has said publicly of this individual’s prosecution on Facebook: “If it believed it was being handled inappropriately, I would have stepped in.”

One can only conclude from this that Mr. Knudsen thinks this is appropriate.

Back in 2013, this prosecutor who publicly identifies himself as a “Jewish Cynic” (notice the Twitter tag) openly admits that his prosecutorial motivation was based, not upon the evidence or truth of a case, but upon his personal hatred for the attorney representing the defendant. He seems to have no shame about announcing such things on social media. Recently, perhaps because of the pendency of our case and because he had been caught, this tagline was removed. (see below)

It has been filed with court regarding our case and this same “Jewish Cynic” prosecutor:

“Where a prosecutor’s display of his religious identity on social media is visibly linked to the prosecutor’s identity in retaliating and zealously punishing defendants, and where unusual zeal in prosecuting members of a different religious identity, such conduct implicates a criminal defendant’s right to a fair trial. And where a religious-identifying prosecutor uses his position to trample the rights of members of different faiths, such conduct infringes on the most fundamental rights that Americans have … Prosecutors [Thorin Geist & David Buchler] have chosen to bring charges against a group of Christian missionaries, while failing to apply equal protection of the laws to the alleged ‘victim’ and at least two (2) witnesses (Crabtree and Ferguson) who are (at least) equally culpable under Montana law. The prosecution has further failed to pursue any ethics violations against the law enforcement personnel or launch an investigation into their misconduct, and are instead prosecuting the actual victims of a hate crime.”

Webster’s 1828 Dictionary (my personal favorite edition) defines a “cynic” as “Having the qualities of a surly dog; snarling; captious; surly; currish; austere.”

A more modern dictionary definition is “a person who believes that people are motivated purely by self-interest RATHER THAN ACTING FOR HONORABLE OR UNSELFISH REASONS.” In other words, this guy openly admits by way of his own Twitter tagline that he is biased and opposed to anyone who would claim any other faith (just like the attitude of a famous “Jewish Cynic” in Acts 8:3). This type of cynical behavior is not surprising to me, a Gentile follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Jewish Messiah, for it goes all the way back to the Early Church and has been exercised countless times upon followers of the true Messiah, both Jew and Gentile:

“But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming” (Acts 13:45).

“But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution …” (Acts 13:50)

“But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren” (Acts 14:2).

“But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people” (Acts 17:5).

“But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people” (Acts 17:13).

“And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him” (Acts 21:27)

“And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove” (Acts 25:7).

It’s also not surprising in view of the clear testimony of Scripture: “As concerning the gospel, they [the Jewish people who reject their Messiah] are enemies for your [Jewish and Gentile followers of the true Messiah] sakes (Romans 11:28a).

Notwithstanding, these same “enemies” cited above (including the man seeking to falsely and wrongfully prosecute us) … “as touching the election, they are beloved for the father’s sakes” (Romans 11:28b).

Therefore, there is nothing this self-professing “Jewish Cynic” (Thorin Geist) can do to make us hate him or his people.

In fact, it is probably our love for the Jewish people, the Jewish Messiah, and the Hebrew Gospel message inscribed upon our cross that is ground zero for the hatred and cynicism that translates into his malicious and selective prosecution. Notwithstanding, THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO TO MAKE US HATE HIM. The Scriptures are clear:

“Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee … And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again” (Romans 11:19-21,23).

For Thorin Geist, there actually is hope.

Make no mistake, we will fight his selective prosecution and anti-religious bias to the gates of Hell, if need be, but we won’t hate him. We pray for him; and we will continue to pray for him in the spirit of Genesis 12:3 and Psalm 122:6.

As touching the Jewish people, even the ones who hate Christians, the Gentile Body of Christ owes them a debt of gratitude; for through Israel, the God of Israel gave to us: the HOLY SCRIPTURES (Romans 3:1-2); the MESSIAH (Romans 9:1-5); the PROPHETS & APOSTLES (Ephesians 2:19-20); the FIRST New Testament Churches, the FIRST Christian pastors, and the FIRST Christian missionaries (Acts 11:19-23). If it weren’t for Mr. Geist’s ancestors, nether I nor my family would have any knowledge of the God of Israel and the Messiah of Israel.

How could we possibly hate this man who hates us?

His public identification as a “Jewish Cynic” in relationship to his position as a prosecutor is truly SHAMEFUL, but in the bigger picture, it is actually HOPEFUL. It gives me a kind of hopeful joy that perhaps the Lord has a greater purpose in all of this.

The morning of the day were were TARGETED, THREATENED, and ATTACKED without provocation, we prayed as we customarily did: that the Lord would put a lost sheep from the House of Israel into our path, remembering the dear Israeli man back in Spearfish, South Dakota who gladly received a copy of the Hebrew Scriptures from our hands. It’s now apparent that the Lord heard and answered that prayer. Why then, you might ask, am I hopeful when it comes to a man who so obviously hates me and my family with such vitriol that he would selectively prosecute us instead of our attackers and seek maximum sentence for a Christian father who simply acted with great restraint in accordance with the law to protect his own children against a maniac provocateur? Why am I hopeful and not filled with rage, anger, and fear? It’s actually quite simple …

… The greatest witness in the history of the Christian Church, the greatest missionary of all time, the author of at least 13 epistles in the New Testament also once hated Christians and boasted of being a Jewish Cynic: “an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee; Concerning zeal, persecuting the church” (Philippians 3:5-6). This same Jewish Cynic once stood by with satisfaction while a man was murdered for his faith in Christ: “and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” (Acts 7:58-59). This same Jewish Cynic “made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and hauling men and women committed them to prison” (Acts 8:3).

A Jewish Cynic who SELECTIVELY PROSECUTED Jewish Christians, who wrongfully charged many, who sought to throw many into prison, was stopped dead in his tracks on the road to Damascus. It was indeed difficult for him to kick against the pricks. This Jewish Cynic then became the greatest witness for the Lord Jesus Christ and the greatest servant to the Christian Church that the world has ever known. If the Lord can do that with Saul of Tarsus, our beloved Paul the Apostle, there is even hope for a professing “Jewish Cynic” in 2023.

May the Lord grant the same grace, repentance, and salvation to Mr. Thorin Geist.

May He have a personal encounter with the true Messiah of Israel. There is nothing Mr. Geist can do to make us hate him or his people.

Make no mistake, we will NEVER plead guilty to even a $2 fine in this case.

Make no mistake, we will NEVER make a deal with this man short of the dropping of all charges and a public acknowledgment of wrongdoing. Make no mistake, the attacker, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the Madison County Attorney’s Office, and the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Montana will be held accountable for their actions. Make no mistake, on May 13, 2023, we will resume our walk across America from the very spot we were attacked, parking the SAG vehicle in the EXACT SPOT it was parked on November 12, when we stood our ground and acted to protect ourselves from a violent man who EXITED HIS VEHICLE and RABIDLY APPROACHED US at OUR VEHICLE. Make no mistake, we will fight, if need be, this malicious and selective prosecution of a “Jewish Cynic” who works under the authority of an elected Attorney General (who professes to be a Christian, pro-Constitution, pro-life, pro-self-defense, and pro-2nd Amendment) to the gates of Hell. AND YET … let me go on record PUBLICLY that in the wave of anti-Semitism that is indeed rising in our nation, those like Mr. Geist, who hate us, will one day be able to count on us, if the situation so arises. We will help them and put our lives on the line for them as some of our spiritual ancestors in Germany once did for their fathers under Nazi tyranny.

“As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes” (Romans 11:28).

Please pray for Thorin Geist. He needs the Messiah.

As it is inscribed in Hebrew on the back of the very cross he is currently holding as “evidence”:

“The people of Israel live. The Messiah of Israel lives. Come, Lord Jesus.”
