Kalispell MT: Leisure Island Fire-Citizens Pour In to View

Date:

At approximately 10:30 p.m. fire trucks poured onto Leisure Island in Kalispell off of Leisure Drive.

It is believed more than 10 fire trucks showed up to put out the fire as fast as possible. (It is unknown if it was a structure on fire or the forest. Leisure Island is known to have bear and mountain lion activity.

It seems the fire and smoke could be seen from Main St in Kalispell as well as Logan Health.

Residents poured onto Leisure Drive and Island as well to attempt to capture a view of the fire and smoke to the dismay of the firefighters. It is easy to get congested as there is a narrow bridge which makes it difficult to enter or depart if a multitude of cars are attempting to get in or out.
