Columbia Falls Citizens Oppose Subdivision- But DON’T Build Near Toxic CFAC! Meeting Tonight 7pm!

Date:

Columbia Falls residents are upset and they should be.

As you can read below a proposed 450 person subdivision east of the river is under review. As the second screen shot states, “It’s irresponsible to develop prime agricultural land especially so close to the City Center.”

Another resident suggested building over the ‘Columbia Falls Aluminum Company location (once the EPA gives the ‘all-clear’). That seems to be a very unsafe decision especially since to our awareness the EPA in that area hasn’t even begun. Additionally, it’s been noted that there has been an unusually high number of teens and young adults (ages 15-25) who’ve contracted blood-related cancers in the Columbia Falls area in the not-too-distant past. Aluminum ‘sludge’ (waste products) were dumped into a nearby pond during the production years of the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company. Every home in Columbia Falls should perform soil and water testing to ensure safety levels of heavy metals.
