MONTANA: November General Election Ballot-What You Need to Know

Below are Constitutional Initiatives that folks are collecting signatures for in hopes of getting them on the General Election Ballot in November, 2024. When petitions come your way you will know how to vote responsibly.

There are several Constitutional Initiatives that people are collecting signatures for hoping to get them on the November General Election ballot.

The following are recommendations from Montanans for Limited Government.

CI-124 (Ballot Issue #7) Amends the Montana Constitution to remove jurisdiction from the Supreme Court to govern admission to the Bar and the conduct of its members. (YES)

CI-125 (Ballot Issue #8) Allows 100 plus one-half of one percent of a county’s electors to convene a grand jury. (YES)

CI-126 (Ballot Issue #12) Open Primary. All candidates regardless of political party to appear on one ballot. Top four go on to the general election. (NO)

CI-127 (Ballot Issue #13) Majority, not plurality. Winner must receive over 50% of votes. Could lead to run off elections. (NO)

CI-128 (Ballot Issue #14) Amend the Montana Constitution to expressly provide the right to abortion. (NO)
