Dear Fellow Montanans,
Hear me out. And yes the title is correct. Now you may be asking why would I write what I did? I’m going to explain it to you.
Convention of States, taxation and election fraud aren’t the REAL ISSUE. Yes, they are concerning issues but they aren’t issues on which God judges a nation.
Abortion is.
If you pay attention long enough you will see patterns and the pattern is when “innocent blood is shed” nations crumble or become devoured. God takes very seriously the murdering of innocent children and Montana is an abortion rights state. This should never be but because of the “Privacy” law in Montana (which was pushed through by a doctor no less-“First Do No Harm”), abortion is legal in a state where it should not be.
God is judging the United States (collectively) for the heinous crime of abortion and God is judging Montana for it as well. Let that sink in.
The legislature had its chance this past session to work toward abolishing abortion in Montana and they BLEW it. Most specifically Matt Regier blew it. And before your jaw drops allow me to explain.
To the best of my knowledge in order for an ‘Amendment’ to make it onto the ‘ballot’ at least 2/3 of the votes need to pass through the Senate and the House in Helena first. In the Helena legislative session 2021 the House and Senate vote was only 5 votes shy of our goal of getting the Personhood Amendment on the ballot. We needed 100 votes out of 150 House/Senate members and the final vote was 95; we were so so close to getting PA on the ballot to the citizens of Montana however it failed.
Then in 2023 (the last year there will most likely be a ‘Super-Majority’ of Republicans and conservative representatives) any hope of the Personhood Amendment was squashed and ironically so by Jeff Laszloffy (President of the Montana Family Foundation) who convinced Matt Regier to not push forward to try to get the PA on the ballot via House/Senate voting.

A quick summary is this: The measure would have defined a “person” as “all members of the species Homo sapiens at any stage of development, including the stage of fertilization or conception, regardless of age, health, level of functioning, or condition of dependency.”[1]
What was Laszloffy’s reasoning? Well it was very weak that’s most certain. He claimed he “Sent out a poll” and that most Montanan’s wouldn’t vote “pro-life” (I for one never received such a poll and neither did anyone I know). Furthermore, he told Regier that because LR-131 (read more about that bill here) didn’t pass that Laszloffy did not believe the people of Montana would vote pro-life concerning the Personhood Amendment. Also as far as ‘Amendments’ are concerned I believe only 5 get to go to ‘ballot’ once passed in the House and Senate. There were in the last session (to my knowledge) over 40 amendments so the Personhood Amendment was ‘nixed’. It was a grave mistake to not even try to get it to the House and Senate.
But there’s more.
Representative Bob Phalen (R) HD36 was all prepared to push the PA through and carry the bill until he got “the ax” from Regier.
Several of us also have thoughts about why Regier would pull such a move.
- The abortion cause it MESSY (literally and figuratively speaking). You risk great attacks verbally and otherwise.
- It’s expensive. If takes posters, mailers, commercials, radio ads etc. to promote life to the public so they will then vote for life.
- The people promoting it become vulnerable. Often people view anti-abortion activists as the enemy and if the ones promoting the pro-life vote want to run for office or a larger position politically often they are hit hard. Look what Rosendale had to endure and he was pressing pro-life among other issues.
- It’s exhausting. It’s a long haul type of fight.
Furthermore, many Montanans believe the Montana Freedom Caucus should have overruled Matt Regier on this matter and tried to push it through. It is that serious. Whether or not he had all authority to rule on this issue is unknown.
Friends this Personhood Amendment would have abolished abortion in Montana. It would have changed the law. Now? There’s a slim chance that we will ever have a “Super Majority” again in Helena. This is beyond tragic. This is the issue which nations rise and fall upon, not election fraud, not taxes, not the COS.
